Spencer Jackson, PLMHP
Spencer Jackson, PLMHP, is passionate about using authenticity and care to help people navigate life’s challenges. She became interested in mental health after seeing how it impacts relationships, daily life and overall well-being. As a therapist with the Methodist Community Counseling Program, Jackson enjoys working with older teens, young adults and people who are neurodivergent – including those with ADHD, autism and learning differences.
“What I love most about my job is sharing real, human moments with my clients – the learning, the laughter, the small steps forward. It’s a privilege to be trusted to do this work and walk alongside people as they grow,” Jackson said.
Her clinical interests include mood disorders, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relational concerns and existential questions. She incorporates acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused approaches. But for her, trust and authenticity are key in the work she does.
“I want clients to feel safe being fully themselves and know that we’re learning, reflecting and growing together. Real connection is what makes therapy effective and meaningful.”
Jackson is inspired by Methodist’s commitment to client-centered care and values the respect and collaboration that define relationships with her coworkers and clients.
“To me, The Meaning of Care is about showing up with genuine presence, empathy and curiosity. It’s about meeting people where they are – without judgment – and working together toward what matters most to them.”
Outside of counseling, Jackson enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, crafting, and exploring new ice cream shops.
