Breaking Down Biases
Since 2018, the number of male nurses at Methodist has grown by 25%, and the turnover rate is down to 15.8%. Methodist has dozens of male nurses in clinical leadership positions as staff preceptors and charge nurses. Our male nurses also participate in a number of committees throughout the health system.
To strengthen the nursing profession, we need to break down gender-related biases and promote men in nursing. Male nurses can serve as preceptors, role models, and mentors for our future healthcare professionals as we continue to build a high-quality health care delivery system.
