Thank you for your interest in bringing the Methodist Mobile 3D Mammography coach to your organization. Below you will find answers to some frequently asked questions about how to schedule the coach, what services Methodist provides, the cost and more.
-
Our Mobile Mammography coordinator is available Monday through Friday from 8am - 4pm. Please contact the Mobile Mammography Coordinator to discuss a date and time choices at 402-490-7883, via email or through our contact form. Please allow up to 2 business days for follow-up contact.
Once your date is confirmed, materials and forms will be sent to you for your employees.
Our mission is to make mammograms more convenient and more accessible; therefore we do not charge your organization for hosting our coach. The cost of the mammogram is filed with the patient's personal insurance company. Most insurance providers consider a mammogram to be health maintenance and cover the cost completely. No co-pay will be collected at the time of the exam on the Methodist Mobile Mammography coach.
The mobile unit is large, requiring a level paved area with accommodations. The coach is 38' 11" in overall length, 8' 5" wide and 11' 8" tall. This equates to approximately 7-8 parking spaces.
We recommend scheduling at least 90 days in advance. This allows your organization to share the news of this opportunity with as many of your employees as possible. You may schedule the coach as far out as 8 months.
Our services provide life-saving screenings for eligible patients who:
- Are age 40 or older
- Had their last mammogram more than one year ago
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding or breastfed the previous 6 months
- Do not have breast issues such as a lump, pain or discharge
- Are ambulatory and able to maneuver the stairs to enter the coach
We are unable to see male patients or female patients who need a diagnostic mammogram.
Methodist Mobile Mammography offers the area’s first and only 3D mobile mammograms. Our technicians cannot provide clinical breast exams or diagnostic (symptomatic) mammograms. Symptoms that would indicate a need for a diagnostic mammogram include a palpable lump that is new or has changed in size, shape or tenderness, nipple discharge. If a patient is experiencing any of these symptoms they will need to be rescheduled at one of our mammography facilities where there is an on-site physician.
Digital mammography replaces X-ray film with detectors that capture images in computer code, producing brighter, crisper images of the breast on a computer screen. Digital mammography utilizes CAD (computer-aided detection) technology and is more effective than film mammography in screening patients who are under age 50, or patients of any age with dense breast tissue. Digital mammography provides several advantages to film mammography including better resolution, easier to read scans and increased accuracy.
