The DAISY Award
Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women’s Hospital and Methodist Fremont Health are proud to be a DAISY Award Hospital Partner, recognizing one of our nurses with this special honor every month.
DAISY Award honorees personify Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women’s Hospital and Methodist Fremont Health's remarkable patient experience. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care, and they are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.
Each month Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women's Hospital and Methodist Fremont Health recognize remarkable nurses for the contribution they make to our patients.

The DAISY Foundation
The DAISY Foundation was established in 2000 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died of complications of the auto-immune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) at the age of 33. (DAISY is an acronym for diseases attacking the immune system.)
During Pat’s eight-week hospitalization, his family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided not only to Pat but to everyone in his family. So one of the goals they set in creating a Foundation in Pat’s memory was to recognize extraordinary nurses everywhere who make an enormous difference in the lives of so many people by the super-human work they do every day.
The Meaning of Care Award
Here’s a meaningful way to say thank you to a Methodist employee who went above and beyond the call of duty. Consider making a donation in the employee’s honor to Methodist Hospital Foundation.
The Foundation will recognize each honoree with a custom Methodist Heart and Dove logo pin, and you will receive a photo of the employee receiving the award.
Perhaps it was a kind word or smile that brought you or your loved one comfort. It may have been a life-saving procedure, a cheerful visit or some helpful advice. Each day, Methodist employees do large and small things that touch the lives of patients and their families.
