Tara Slevin
Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer
Tara Slevin is the vice president and chief philanthropy officer for Jennie Edmundson Foundation.
She has extensive experience at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, joining the staff in 1994 as assistant director of volunteer services. She also served as director of volunteers and foundation and vice president of development and volunteers before assuming her current role in 2020.
Slevin, who earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha, is very active in the community.
She has served on the boards of the Iowa West Foundation, Advance Southwest Iowa Corp. and Omaha/Council Bluffs Bridges Out of Poverty Inc. She has also been active with the Caring for Our Communities in Southwest Iowa program, the Pottawattamie County Public Health Department COVID-19 Task Force, the Pottawattamie County Emergency Operations Center COVID Committee, the Riverfront Development Task Force, the Southwest Iowa Coalition on Human Trafficking, the Council Bluffs Noon Rotary Club and the CB Ambassadors.
Slevin is a graduate of Leadership Omaha, Leadership Council Bluffs and Leadership Iowa. She is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Association for Fundraising Professionals and the Council Bluffs Civil Service Commission. She’s also a charter member of the Foundation Professionals for Iowa Hospitals
